VYPE: Where did you get your start coaching and where did you originally graduate from?
Goss: I started coaching at Muskogee Public Schools, my first job was teaching middle school Math and Science and coaching basketball, golf and football. I graduated high school from Hilldale, I have a bachelor’s degree from OU and a master’s degree from Southeastern.
VYPE: What is the message to the athletes at Keys under your guidance and leadership?
Goss: We want to compete in everything we do, our school mission statement states that “students strive to achieve excellence” and that is what we want in athletics as well. Keys is unique in that there is no town of Keys, and the school is the community and we always want to make the community proud.
VYPE: Do you have a coaching/teaching mentor? Someone you have looked up to or call on for advice?
Goss: Both of my parents are teachers and my Dad still coaches and teaches for me at Keys so I would have to say that my Dad was my biggest mentor. I have been so lucky to work for and with so many great people during my stops at Muskogee, Haskell, and Edmond North that I have a great base of mentors and colleagues I can always lean on when needed.
