
The cross-country season is off and running for the Keys Cougars under new coach Holly Bronsert and it brings with it a lot of potential for a fine season.
Anchoring the girl’s team are senior Riley Thomas and junior Aliviah Stricker plus senior Wakia James and sophomore Hunter Shelley who, along with Thomas, qualified for state last year. Other members of the team are sophomores Gabriella Ballard and Lyla Harkreader, seniors Tawaki James along with seniors Gillian Howe and Chante James and freshman Rylee Peterson.

For the guys, Tristan Scott, who qualified for state last year as a freshman, returns along with fellow sophomore Dustin Lingelbach. Rounding out the boy’s squad are juniors Kale Matthews and Jorge Thomason, seniors Gavin Carter and Garrett Lane and freshman Jaxtin Cook.

The teams will compete in seven meets over the next two months leading up to the state meet at the end of October.
