
The Keys Cougar cross country teams are lighting things up about halfway through the cross-country season.
There have been three meets so far and both the boys and girl’s teams are faring well. In the first meet at Gore the girls finished in first place with Riley Thomas taking the gold medal while Aliviah Sticker, Rylee Peterson, Lyla Harkreader, Hunter Shelly, Wakia James and Gabby Ballard also received medals. On the boy’s side, Tristan Scott finished third and Kale Matthews was in 10th.
The next meet was at Camp Gruber where the girls finished second overall with Stricker placing third and Thomas in ninth while Scott finished fifth on the boy’s side.
The third meet was at Inola where the boys and girls were split into two divisions with ninth and tenth graders and juniors and seniors. The ninth and tenth grade girls finished in first place overall with Peterson, Shelly, Harkreader and Ballard all taking home medals. The 11th and 12th grade girls saw Stricker and Thomas both place.
Scott took home top honors in the boy’s division with a PR time of 17:39
