Rolling in the Fairways with Carlee Gideon – Presented by RibCrib

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year and how is the season going?

Carlee: My personal goal for the season was to make it to state with my team. I am now a four-time state qualifier.

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

Carlee: Being on the bus after tournaments is my favorite. We all suffer from “sun exhaustion” and say the craziest things.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Carlee: Holly Bronsert was my math teacher sophomore and junior years. She became like my “school mom” and my friends and I ate lunch in her classroom even when we didn’t have her in class this year.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

Carlee: Going to state my freshman year was really special. I got to play with my best friend for three years after and that was the trip that really brought us together.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Carlee: Ellie Walls will be a junior next season. She has a great attitude and an admirable work ethic. She’s going to be someone to watch out for on the course next year for sure.

She inspired me to do better each tournament this year.

VYPE: Who on your team has the best impression of your coach and who says the funniest things during games?

Carlee: I think I do the best impression of Poppa Goss. It’s because I’m one of the few people that can understand what he says to be able to repeat him. I’m also always looking for ways to make the team laugh.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Carlee: I’d like to go to Cancun someday. I would want to take my mom, mama, Jaycee, and my two baby sisters for a girl’s trip to the beach!

VYPE: If we gave you 500 dollars and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?

Carlee: I would take the golf team back to Olive Garden to see if we could eat more than 109 breadsticks (our current team record) and honestly probably get my nails and eyelashes done after.

VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.

Carlee: I would like to thank Poppa Goss for always telling me stories to take my mind off a bad day, or just to make me laugh. I’ll miss the pocket cookies and being called “captain.” Thank you to my family for always reminding me that my attitude is everything. My teammates: each of them left a lasting impression on me and I’ll be back to watch those who are still playing. Keys High School golf gave me the best memories and I wouldn’t trade my experience for the world.
