Keys High School’s Brooklyn Carter – Track Spotlight – Presented by Tommy Nix Auto Group

BROOKLYN CARTER-KEYS

Keys High School senior Brooklyn Carter is certainly an accomplished track athlete. She has qualified the last two years in the long lump to advance to the state track meet and hopes to qualify for state this year in the 300-meter hurdles as well. Additionally, she was Miss Green Country Teen for 2025 and was a candidate at the Miss Oklahoma Teen Scholarship Pageant and is the valedictorian of her class.

“Brooklyn has exceled in the long jump the last two years and now that we have a hurdles coach on staff this year, I expect her to qualify for state in that event,” said her coach, Kruz Lynch. “She’s as good of a kid as you could ask for and if you could have 20 Brooklyns on your team you’d take them.”

But Brooklyn has two other passions that overtake her athletic accomplishments: dance and her faith and accomplishments in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes where she is the two-year president of the Keys FCA chapter and was named an FCA All State athlete this year.

“My mom danced when she was younger and has a dance studio in Tahlequah, so I got started when I was four and have danced competitively since then. I’m a three-time national champion in different styles of dance,” said Brooklyn. “Dance is a good way for me to channel my emotions and it’s a safe place for me.”

But for Brooklyn sharing her faith and growing the FCA chapter have been the highlights of her high school years.

“One of my goals this year is to continue growing our FCA chapter by reaching out to many area churches to let them know about it. Being able to bring so many students to Jesus continues to fill my heart and soul…and knowing that I get to plant a seed in so many student’s hearts will always be one of my greatest accomplishments here on Earth. I truly believe that each of us was placed on Earth to serve Him, and though FCA, I have truly found my calling from God.”

After her final year of track competition, Brooklyn will make one more trip to nationals for dance this summer and then will attend Oklahoma State next fall where she plans to try out for the Cowboys pom squad.
